WATER-SIDE GOODS TRANSPORT NATIONWIDE
Carl Robert Eckelmann Transport u. Logistik GmbH
With an inland waterway and port ship tonnage of around 120,000 t per month, Carl Robert Eckelmann Transport u. Logistik GmbH is the leading service provider in waterside transport in Northern Germany. Our fleet of ships consists of push boats, tugboats, double-hull tankers up to 1,200 t and a fleet of more than 100 dry barges. These include EURO I and EURO II lighters, ranging in weight from 400 t to 2,000 t per unit, as well as barges with tonnage capacities of 150 t to 210 t.
Our water-side construction site logistics ensures the complete construction site equipment for hydraulic construction sites and takes care of the supply and disposal of the construction sites with gravel, silt, armourstone, pipes, dredging, sheet piling and thus ensures smooth operation of the construction sites not only in Hamburg, but also nationwide.
The future of emission-reduced logistics lies in waterside transport. In the course of the already massively overloaded transport options on the road network due to individual truck journeys, the use of alternative transport structures is becoming increasingly important. Up to 60 containers (size: 40ft) or optionally up to 90 containers (size: 20ft) can be transported with a transport in a pusher combination with only one pusher ship, thus significantly reducing the CO2 load.
The history of Transport u. Logistik GmbH
In 1865, the company founder, Cordt Eckelmann, laid the foundation for what later became the family business Carl Robert Eckelmann by building his own wooden barge. Over the generations, the Hamburg Ewerfuhrerei became a wide-ranging service company.
Since it was founded, today's Eckelmann group of companies has had its headquarters in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and is closely linked to the Hanseatic commercial roots of the Elbe metropolis. The traditional company is now successfully run by the 5th generation.
