The company MULTIPLEX was founded in 1985 based on a joint venture of the companies Grimm & Co. Hafendienstleistungen and the company E.W. Behrndt Hafenlogistik - two long-established companies in the port of Hamburg. The aim of the union was to create a new business area: industrial cleaning.
Both companies contribute a solid customer base to the new company. Starting with simple boiler-, silo- and factory-cleaning, 1991 one more company was purchased: Ipka KG, which is specialized in suction vehicles. Thus another business area was added: roof gravelling and gravel removal.
In 2008, the Eckelmann Group bought up the whole MULTIPLEX company, which is a successful and expanding subsidiary today.
